Sean... and other things

Last year, Ben planned an awesome trip to New York for our anniversary so this year it was my turn to plan it.  I've been wanting to go to Vegas forever so it was the perfect time to plan a secret trip!  I had it planned for about a month before we went and he had NO idea where we were going.  His guesses were the Uintahs to camp, Park City, and St. George.

A couple of days before we were leaving, I saw a tweet (yes... I follow @seanlowe09) that said "I'll be in Vegas this weekend at Club 1Oak!" and I freaked inside.  My plan for the weekend was to do Michael Jackson Cirque Du Soleil on Saturday, swim during the day, and Friday night to find a club to go to... this was perfect!! I was on my phone when I saw the tweet and ran downstairs telling Ben it was an emergency:)  So I bought tickets and was soooo excited.  I mean, it's better than I was excited about seeing a good-looking, Christian, upstanding simple guy from the Bachelor than some sleazy, druggy/drunk, pompous celebrity right?

We started the trip off getting our usual yogurt:
His & Hers

We left Friday mid-day (thanks to Aunt Raquel and grandparents for babysitting!) and drove to Vegas.  He still didn't know until we were in St. George when I broke the news and told him what we'd be doing that night.  He was surprisingly excited! :)

We got to the Mirage right at 10:30pm... thinking that somehow being on time/early, we'd have a better chance of meeting him...

We didn't increase our chances, but we secured a spot on the dance floor right up front by where I was guessing he'd be when he came and I was right!

We danced for a good hour and a half, keeping our eyes out for Sean.

It was so fun! Thank goodness for clear earplugs though!

He and Catherine came at midnight and we were so close to them.  When they announced his arrival, no one really cared... haha, there's much bigger celebs that come through Vegas so I'm sure a little Bachelor is not that exciting.  I was the only one waving to him when he came in so he looked right at me and smiled and waved.

We continued dancing and I may have continued staring at him... but he kept looking at me over and over (cause I was that fan that was staring )  haha.  It was awesome. At about 1:30am it was getting a little crazy and crowded, and too much beer/alcohol splashing on my legs so we left.

Saturday we slept in... oh so nice.  And honestly, we were going to just be lazy at our pool but we saw that Sean was also going to be at the Aria pool lounge... and I really wanted a picture with him (that was my lame goal), and Ben being an awesome husband and good sport (and knowing we'd never do anything like that again) agreed to go!

This was quite crazy! It was like a day club. The pool was packed with people and alcohol :)  We were only there about 30 minutes when we noticed he was already there in a private lounge behind glass.  We went over and asked the bouncer if we could get a picture and he said no... we left, then saw another couple trying to get pictures and the bouncer let them up!  So I ran over with Ben and after they were done with pics we asked the bouncer again and he said, "Not right now"  so Ben got Sean's attention and asked him directly and Sean said yes! So we ran up and had to be super quick, and there was no one really around to take a pic with Ben in it so Ben just said "I'll take it"  and YAY!

He was SUPER nice and talked to us for a second and wished us a Happy Anniversary.  He shook Ben's hand twice (he still hasn't washed it).  It was so awesome!

Then we went back to get ready for Michael Jackson.  He is one of my favorite artists of all time (he and Elvis Presley) so I was super excited.

It was AMAZING. My favorite was Billy Jean (glow in the dark suits), Thriller (incredible trampoline stuff) and Man in the Mirror (with a Michael Jackson hollygram so it felt like he was there dancing with his dancers!).

Sunday we walked around, shopped a little and went to Palmas for all-you-can eat lunch. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary and then we took off home!

It was the perfect get-away! We loved it and had so much fun together.  Happy 6 years to us!  I

Martina Bride puts it perfectly for me:

I pinch myself sometimes to make sure
I'm not in a dream, that's how it seems
I close my eyes and breathe in the sweetest moments
I've ever known, it feels like home

And here I am, I wanna be your everything
There you are turning winter into spring

And everyone that sees you always wants to know you
And everyone that knows you always has a smile
You're a standing ovation after years of waiting
For a chance to finally shine

Everyone calls you amazing yeah, I just call you mine

I fall apart and just a word from you somehow seems to fix
Whatever's wrong, oh, you reach into the weakest moments
And remind me that I'm strong, you've gotta know
I'd be a fool not to see or even worse
To forget that you're more than I deserved

Nothing makes sense when you're not here
As it my whole world disappears
Without you what's the point of anything?

'Cause everyone that sees you always wants to know you
And everyone that knows you always has a smile
You're the dream that I've been chasing after years of waiting
For a chance to finally shine

3 years old!

My baby girl is 3 years old! Here is a little interview I had with her to remember her at this age:

She is our little beauty.

On her birthday morning, we had a little neighborhood friend party.  I combined all of her favorite things: cereal, cartoons, rice krispies, and chocolate milk:)

Sneaking some marshmallows waiting for friends to arrive:

Then the friends arrived!

Once I turned on the cartoons (Bugs Bunny), it was silent and they would have sat there for hours if I had let them:)

We did a little craft (cereal snackbag butterflies):

They loved it!

Claire is so little!  Granted all of her friends are at least 6 months older than she is but still!  :)

Had to sneak one in with the self timer so we all knew I was there! :)  Thanks everyone who came! She loved having you and loved your cute gifts.

Saturday morning we had a family party for her.  We are so blessed to have such great family who trekked all the way south to see her:)

(Thanks, Ben, for taking some pics!)

Pa (her great-grandpa) gave her the rocking horse he made Ben was Ben was a little boy.  Very special and she loves it. She has named it "Spirit" and is very possessive of him.

Claire is sweet and sassy. She has a tender heart and is aware of how you are feeling. She loves people and asks everyone she doesn't know, "What's your name?"  She's bossy but makes kids feel included and important.  She is independent, but loves her mommy & daddy. She's never been mean to Alex and is always aware of him and wants to keep him happy.  She is a daddy's girl and has him wrapped around her finger. She's smart, mature, and has the funniest sense of humor.  She loves to laugh and make others laugh.  Everyone who knows her, loves her.  All we ever hear from people is how cute she is, 'What a spit-fire!" "We just LOVE her!" 'She's so special!" ...

We agree.  She is a special girl and an angel in our family.  We are so grateful to be her parents and excited for the fun we will have this next year!  We adore you, Claire.
